Spencer Legg's Outreach for Kids with Diabetes
Louisville senior guard Spencer Legg is turning his personal challenges into outreach through his organization, Spencer's Stand. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a youth, Legg works to raise awareness and support for kids and families affected by diabetes.
Following a recent upset victory over No. 22 Miami, Legg spoke at West End School, where he encouraged young athletes. He shared his experience of overcoming adversity, stating, "Just because you feel a certain way one day doesn't mean that's how you're going to feel forever". Legg's influence is evident, as students like high school athlete Jack Powers look up to him as a role model.
Legg emphasizes the importance of community support, reiterating that students are not alone in their struggles. His mission focuses on awareness and inspiring confidence among those facing similar challenges.
